1) Only typewritten submissions will be reviewed. Delivery via email is preferred, to the address indicated above.

2) You must include your full name, address, and a daytime phone number where we may reach you in case we have a question.

3) Sorry, submissions will not be returned.

4) Word count: maximum 5000 words – approx. 10 typewritten pages. Shorter submissions may have more of a chance of being accepted.

5) Submissions must be human interest related stories or articles. Hashkafah, Torah articles, opinion pieces, letters, political or technical articles will not be considered.

6) Contents of submission should be appropriate to an Orthodox readership and contain no offensive material etc. in order to be considered.

7) You must specify if story is fiction or non-fiction. You may be asked to verify pertinent details, if story is to be portrayed as true.

8) Works of fiction will be considered as well.

9) Children ages 10 and over may participate. Please include your age together with your name and address. These submissions, if accepted, may be part of a separate section within the book, or a separate but similar publication geared for youth.

10) If your submission is accepted, we will notify you by phone, email, or regular mail, based on the information you provided us with. You will be asked to sign an agreement, essentially agreeing to guidelines such as those enumerated here. Articles will not be published without signed agreement. If submission is by a child under the age of eighteen, form will need to be signed by a parent or guardian.

11) Once your piece is accepted, you can choose whether you want to have your name appear in the book together with your article, or not, or you can choose a pen name, subject to our approval.

12) All participants whose submissions are accepted will receive two free copies of the book prior to the book’s public release. Additional copies will be made available to authors at a discount.

13) Submissions, once received, become property of Israel Book Shop/Judaica Distribution Center Inc. including all rights associated with them. Even if submission is not accepted for the planned forthcoming book, it may be used in an alternate book or books, or for any other purpose we choose, without requiring further permission from, or notification of author.

14) Authors maintain no rights to their material nor to the book(s) in which it appears. No royalties or fees will be due any author. Conversely, authors will not be required to pay for any costs associated with the book(s), other than costs involved in sending in the submission.

15) We reserve the right to edit, add, delete, or otherwise alter submissions as we see fit, per the suggestions of our editors, in order to include submission in book.

16) Publication of this offer and/or receipt or acceptance of submissions in no way guarantees or implies that this book or books will actually be published. The publisher may decide, at its sole discretion, to postpone or cancel publication of book(s) at any time and for any reason whatsoever.

17) We reserve the right to revise or rescind this offer at any time without notice.
